Corporate wellbeing
Benefiting employees and employers
Programmes benefit employees and employers, providing a perfect start to the day, a lunchtime boost, or an antidote after long hours behind a desk. Mindful yoga offers tools to help boost performance, cultivate resilience, manage stress and anxiety, and reduce burnout. Research also supports that yoga improves clarity, concentration, decision making, creativity and community spirit amongst participating staff. It can be introduced as a regular practice or as ad-hoc sessions for events or team building exercises.
The approach
I work with employers and staff to develop wellbeing programmes that suit their needs. Whether that’s holding weekly online or face-to-face classes, creating wellbeing hubs at events and presentations, or developing targeted workshops and courses.
Practices are designed to support physical, mental and emotional wellbeing in the workplace and in everyday life creating holistic solutions which are tailored to the client. Expected benefits include:
helping to create a sense of workplace care and community (which clients report being exceptionally beneficial in covid conditions)
managing stress and worker burnout (more on burnout further down the page)
preparing for events such as pitches, presentations or speeches by teaching tools (some taking as little as 3mins) which help reduce nerves, increase clarity and focus, and boost confidence and quality of delivery
boosting creativity and solutions
supporting, reducing and preventing repetitive strain injuries
and simply creating time to relax
These are achieved through a combination of mindful yoga, guided meditation, relaxation, breath and mindfulness practices.
“Thank you for the incredible yoga class last night. It was so calming and I feel so much brighter for it and ready for whatever today brings ”
Worker burnout
Tech Republic reports covid has exacerbated a 75% burnout rate among workers. Medscape reported in November 2020 that there's a sharp rise in burnout among healthcare workers, nurses, doctors and clinicians during covid. Times Higher Education reports that covid is increasing risk of burnout among academics (reflecting concerns for all teachers and support staff). This is all on top of the 2017 PwC report which showed that one in three UK employees are working with anxiety, depression or stress.
“It’s becoming increasingly important for organisations to provide employees with support for their emotional and physical health at work. Healthier and happier staff perform better, stay in their business longer and reduce costs and risks for organisations.”
Offering a wellbeing programme in your workplace, no matter how small, is not the total solution but it is one very accessible way to positively contribute to staff wellness helping them and the organisation to stay resilient.
Clients
Past and present clients include what3words, Coronation Street, Novartis, Public Health England, NHS, ARRI and ARRI Rental, PioneerDJ, Yakult, among others.
Costs
Solutions reflect your needs and so costs depend on your requirements. As a guide, you can expect to pay between £80-£250 per session depending on your location, number of participants and wellbeing requirements. Here are some approach options you may wish to consider:
Event specific
You can book coaching sessions, mindful yoga, chair yoga, meditation and mindfulness sessions for adhoc or one-off events such as confidence coaching and preparation for presentations/pitches/speeches.
It can also be used for team building exercises and it’s a great way to offer staff a flavour of what the practice offers and perfect for bringing your teams together.
Block plan
A block plan provides you with a regular day and time (each week or month) for a fixed number of sessions (usually 5 or 10) to take part in a corporate wellbeing class at a time and on a day that suits your organisation best.
Morning sessions are great to kick off the day, lunchtime sessions are a fab energy boost and reset, while evenings are perfect for closing the day and recharging.
Annual plan
This offers all the benefits of the block plan but with a generous discount.
The plan offers plenty of flex for Easter, Summer and Festive holidays to ensure your organisation can make the most of the schedule and time off.
As a bonus, sessions can be recorded so anyone not able to join live can still enjoy the practice in their own time.
